"I Knew It, I Knowed It!"

I don't know where I heard the title of this post (Madea Maybe??) but it definitely applies to how I feel about this Clevver Style interview with Keke Palmer and her stylist. As you all know from a previous girl crush post, I love Keke. She is young, multi-talented, beautiful, driven and has a style all her own that is to be reckoned with. As the great Beyoncé once said: "...[she] may be young, but [she's] ready...", as you will see from the video below. Keke knows what she wants in terms of making a statement with what she chooses to wear. Her stylist, Melis Kuris, who has been working with her since her tween years, has continued to help grow and expand her image from Nickelodeon fave to young hottie. The two make for a dynamic duo.

Honestly, I also just love to hear the story behind the scenes - minus all the glamour, flashing lights, red carpets and possible photoshopping. They also spoke briefly about the importance of comfort and compatibility in reference to wardrobe, makeup, and hair styling.  It may be a good watch for those of you who may be looking into the wonderful world of styling...

Hey Ladies!!

I have a new girl crush. Well, not really new because I have noticed this individual 'do her thing' for a while now. At the tender age of 18 (yes, 18), Keke Palmer is formidable in terms of her style, hair, shoe, and makeup choices. I was actually a bit hesitant to post this because she is so young; but it had to be done. Each time I see her, it seems as if she gets better and better with these choices. Imagine how effortless and inspiring her style will be by the time she turns 21 in 3 years! Check her out below:

Todays Girl Crush is a must that I feature actress Tika Sumpter. Whether you know her from her role on One Life to Live or her guest starring spots on The Game and Gossip Girl, you must admit the girl has style! Tika is definitely making her mark on the red carpet and everywhere else. I love her because you can easily see that she doesn't just dress according to trends but is bold with color and design, fierce in wardrobe and cosmetic choices and takes risks...the girl does her thing! As a beautiful deep-chocolate sister setting an example for the many women who look like her but are not as often represented in the media, she's stunting on these others chicks and showing them how. I admire her! Girl Crush: Tae Heckard

I have a girl crush. Do you guys ever get totally enraptured with just how beautiful another female is? Well that's how I feel about model/actress Tae Heckard best known for playing Jazz on the CW/BET's The Game. I mean, she is beautiful physically of course, with hair to die for, but the thing that I love the most about her is the unmistakable confidence that she exudes in all of her pictures.
