I'm going to keep this post short and simple. Lord knows, I come and go on this blog. I thank all those of you who continue to support - it means the world. If I could thank each of you personally, I honestly would.
King Bey said it best back in '06:
...Every woman got one...Shut it down when the time comes
...Pull out the big guns..and put your freakum dress on...
This is a dress I pull out when I don't have the time to think about color schemes, patterns or matching shoes. If it's a sexy, festive occasion, this dress always fits the script. The dress is actually from Dots; to my surprise the quality is incredible. I have had the dress for three years and it has served me well.

A Few Words
Hey All,
It has been a crazyyyyyyy week here in Boston. I have lived in this city my entire life (minus the time I spent at College - 45min away) and have never experienced nor could imagine anything like this ever happening here. I thank God for his bountiful blessings and his endless mercy. My heart mourns for those whose lives have been forever changed by the events that took place this past Monday and keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Basic Smokey Eye
I don't know about y'all but I didn't learn how to apply makeup until the end of my senior year in high school - Shocker, right? Girls these days are master makeup artists by middle school! While I can now easily beat a face, I didn't initially learn out of sheer interest - Prom was swiftly approaching! I searched Google for the perfect look and decided that a smokey eye would set me apart from all the 'basic chicks' at my high school (I kid, I kid, I joke!). Any-who, I learned how to apply my foundation and how to get a simple smokey eye from a makeup artist at the MAC counter. It's been several years - thus I have PERFECTED the basic black smokey eye...and now you will too. Check out my YouTube tutorial on how to achieve a smokey eye in a matter of minutes. It's the perfect fall back look when you just don't know what to do on a night out. I promise you'll love it!

"I Knew It, I Knowed It!"
I don't know where I heard the title of this post (Madea Maybe??) but it definitely applies to how I feel about this Clevver Style interview with Keke Palmer and her stylist. As you all know from a previous girl crush post, I love Keke. She is young, multi-talented, beautiful, driven and has a style all her own that is to be reckoned with. As the great Beyoncé once said: "...[she] may be young, but [she's] ready...", as you will see from the video below. Keke knows what she wants in terms of making a statement with what she chooses to wear. Her stylist, Melis Kuris, who has been working with her since her tween years, has continued to help grow and expand her image from Nickelodeon fave to young hottie. The two make for a dynamic duo.
Honestly, I also just love to hear the story behind the scenes - minus all the glamour, flashing lights, red carpets and possible photoshopping. They also spoke briefly about the importance of comfort and compatibility in reference to wardrobe, makeup, and hair styling. It may be a good watch for those of you who may be looking into the wonderful world of styling...
Enough of the delay...watch for you self below!
